GENERAL
INFORMATION FOR THE SOCIETY OF THE CHINESE AMERICAN
DIABETES ASSOCIATION (CADA)
The Chinese American Diabetes Association (CADA) is a
non-profit organization founded in the United States by a
few prominent and enthusiastic Chinese scientists from
mainland China and the United States, working in diabetes
and related areas in 2004.
CADA Purpose (or
missions):
• to promote research in diabetes and
related areas
• to encourage advancement of
biological and medical knowledge
• to improve the qualifications and
occupational opportunities of its members
• to facilitate professional contact
among its members, especially between Mainland of China and
Northern America
• to establish a spirit of fraternity
and international cooperation
CADA Activities:
CADA members
will enjoy fruitfully and congenial scientific exchanges
and networking among peers during meetings. In the coming 3
years, annual meeting will be held where members and
nonmembers from all over the world participated in
scientific annual meeting of American Diabetes Association.
The growing interest in the CADA meeting will be decided by
the attendants. Other important functions of CADA include:
• Scientific meetings in local chapters
• Cooperative research training
programs
• Recruitment of faculty members to
China
• Recruitment of post-doctoral and
pre-doctoral students
• Forming linkages with the basic
scientists, clinicians and industries interested in
diabetes and associated areas
